How We Started
In 2016, the Pink:31 Breast Cancer Expo was organized by the P:31 Women’s Ministry at Oasis Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Rhonda Lloyd. The ministry wanted to bring awareness and knowledge to the community about various disease states like breast cancer that directly led to high mortality rates among women.
One year later, the vision expanded to include physical, mental, and social wellness for men, women, and children. Interactive workshops, health screenings, and cooking demonstrations were added to the event program. Children ages 5-13 enjoyed getting active in the Kids Zone, which also included conversations on how to handle bullying at school.

Building Healthy Communities
Going forward, we strive to promote overall health and fitness for the entire family across multiple generations by encouraging expo attendees to participate in wellness checks, small group table talks with community health professionals, fitness challenges led by local trainers, healthy food demonstrations by culinary chefs, and several vendor opportunities for healthy lifestyle products and service providers. Our renewed commitment to help build healthy communities has led to what is known today as the Oasis Health & Fitness Expo.
