Wendy G. Strickland received a degree of the highest order in life in 1986 when her aunt, Constance Howard was murdered in a domestic violence incident. Understanding of the fear and the paralysis that comes with domestic violence, she also grew up in a home where her father battered her mom physically, financially, and psychologically.
Vowing to never undergo or allow such treatment was a no-brainer. Miss. Strickland went on to empower herself with a degree in Computer Technology. After working with the State of Florida for over 20 years she received numerous certifications in Leadership, Team Building, Diversification Training and more. She expanded her knowledge by taking courses in Psychology, Human and Addictive Behavior. Seeking knowledge and a deeper connection with her clientele she pursued and received certifications from Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Florida Coalition Against Sexual Violence.
Wendy’s most celebrated accomplishment aside from her beautiful daughter Nashaysha, is AngelWingz Family Crisis and Intervention Center, Inc. A ministry of the Good Samaritan Network. AngelWingz is a ministry that ministry is two-fold. Not only advocates for victims of domestic violence; but human trafficking as well.
Today’s Executive Director, Founder and Advocate for those that have no voice; meet Wendy G. Strickland, “Moving Victims to Victories” one person at a time.
